Worst Nightmare Has Just Happened to Cincinnati Bengals

With Friday’s announcement, the Bengals’ greatest dread has come true.

The Cincinnati Bengals’ daunting challenge of defeating the Buffalo Bills in the second round has just gotten more difficult. Jonah Williams, a left tackle, and Alex Cappa, a right guard, are out.

Williams suffered a dislocated kneecap during the Bengals’ first-round victory against the Baltimore Ravens. In 2022, he started 16 games for the second straight year and participated in all 15 of them, accounting for 100% of the snaps. So, this is a serious blow.

Due to an ankle ailment, Cappa was unable to play against the Ravens last week. In the summer of last year, he inked a $35 million, four-year contract. He participated in 16 games out of 17 and saw 100% of the snaps in 14. For this reason, Cappa’s absence is significant, much like Williams’.

Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Bengals, maintains trust in the offensive line despite their first-round performance hiccups. With several players out, the Bengals will face a formidable defense in the Bills, who were sixth overall and seventh against the run during the regular season.
