Steelers Talk About Trading for Tee Higgins, Per Report

The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers are thinking about trading.

Pittsburgh Internal talks about a trade for wide receiver Tee Higgins with the Cincinnati Bengals have taken place with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals’ standout wideout, Andrew Filliponi of 93.7 The Fan, reports that the Steelers have discussed a possible trade to acquire him. According to reports, Pittsburgh has been active in the wide receiver trade market, and as of right now, players like Stefon Diggs and Brandon Aiyuk are being discussed.

“Sources: The Steelers have held internal talks over Tee Higgins, a wide receiver with the Bengals. They adore the player. However, there are concerns around the expense of his next contract and the acquisition. In the AFC North, there’s also the matter of the Bengals dealing him,” Filliponi posted on X.

Although Higgins is seeking a long-term contract, he is expected to play this season under the franchise tag. Higgins is expected to sign with Pittsburgh in the offseason of 2019 for a four-year contract worth $99.7 million, which includes approximately $60 million in guaranteed money. In his four years in the NFL, Higgins, 25, has amassed 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was previously selected by the Bengals in the second round. In addition to George Pickens, Pittsburgh is searching for a seasoned wide receiver. If an in-division trade is possible, Higgins might be the guy they get.
