The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup draw, held on December 5, 2024, in Miami, set the stage for the first-ever expanded tournament featuring 32 teams. The competition will take place across 12 venues in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025. This new format mirrors the FIFA World Cup, with eight groups of four teams competing in a round-robin stage, followed by a knockout phase starting with the Round of 16.

 

The group draw included top clubs from around the globe. Europe leads with 12 representatives such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea. South America has six teams, including Botafogo (newly crowned Copa Libertadores champion), Flamengo, and River Plate. North America features Monterrey, León, Pachuca, Seattle Sounders, and Inter Miami (the host representative), spearheaded by Lionel Messi. Other participating teams include Al Ahly and Wydad AC from Africa, Al Hilal and Urawa Red Diamonds from Asia, and Auckland City from Oceania.

 

The tournament will open at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, with Inter Miami playing the inaugural match. The final is scheduled for MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Other iconic venues include Los Angeles’ Rose Bowl, Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Seattle’s Lumen Field. Fans eagerly await this expanded event, which promises a global showcase of elite club football.
