Jenna Ortega has shared the first image from the highly anticipated second season of Wednesday, the Netflix series directed by Tim Burton. The production of Season 2 is underway in Ireland, with a planned release in 2025. Ortega teased fans with a photo showing her back in character as Wednesday Addams, sporting the iconic braids, while sitting on a chair labeled “Wednesday Season 2.” Additionally, a video featuring Thing—the disembodied hand—playfully delivering scripts to the cast highlighted the season’s title, “Chapter One: Here We Woe Again”.

Season 2 promises to expand on the dark, quirky tone of the original. Jenna Ortega has hinted at more “action and horror,” suggesting that each episode will feel cinematic. The upcoming season will also feature returning cast members like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Fred Armisen, as well as newcomers such as Steve Buscemi and Thandiwe Newton. The plot remains under wraps, but producers have teased surprises, with the story continuing to explore the mysterious and macabre world of Nevermore Academy.

The debut season of Wednesday, which premiered in November 2022, was a major success, becoming one of Netflix’s most-watched series. Fans can expect even more ambitious storytelling in the follow-up.
