The new Green Bay Packers running back has expressed an incredible first impression after joining the team.
The Green Bay Packers are currently in the seventh and final spot in the NFL Playoff picture for the NFC, having previously struggled with injuries and a 2-5 record. Running back Aaron Jones has been particularly affected by multiple injuries throughout the season.
Jones sustained a hamstring injury in Week One, causing a two-week absence. He returned on a snap count, but suffered a sprained MCL against the Los Angeles Chargers while recovering from the injury, and has not played since.
The Green Bay Packers have signed a variety of running backs due to injuries to Jones and Emanuel Wilson. Patrick Taylor, released after maxing out elevations, was signed to the 53-man roster off the New England Patriots’ practice squad. James Robinson, who spent two stints on the Green Bay practice squad, was released earlier on Tuesday. Kenyan Drake has also been signed as a running back.
The Packers have signed former third round pick Kenyan Drake, drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 2016 NFL Draft. Drake started the year with the Baltimore Ravens but was released and signed with the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad. He will be Green Bay’s third team this season. Playing for the Packers franchise means a lot to the players, as it provides a sense of history and honor to be with legends like Reggie White and Forrest Gregg.
