Cincinnati Bengals fans say goodbye to Jake Browning

Five Questions With Cincy Jungle: Bengals Knowledge Revealed

As the Jaguars get ready to play the Bengals in Week 13, gather intelligence about the opposition.

We chatted with Anthony Cosenza of Cincy Jungle ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 13 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals to find out more about the rival team.

First question: Is there a chance the Bengals will make the playoffs, or will they be meaningless until Joe Burrow gets back?

I believe the response to this would have been “yes” up until last week. The Bengals’ defense has shown to be opportunistic and has mostly kept them in games, despite their play not living up to the 2021–22 standards.

Even though Burrow is among the greatest in the game, you had to think the Bengals could use their abundance of weapons to generate at least some offensive production, even if they had a backup quarterback. When you consider that the top AFC teams—including the Cincinnati club with Burrow at the helm—have displayed more blatant weaknesses than in the past, a cunning plan seems feasible.

Then, any remnant of a deadly attack disappeared after giving Jake Browning a week and a half to process things as the starter following his game against Baltimore. Even though Pittsburgh’s defense is renowned for being strong, the Bengals had plenty of chances to win the game. A home victory is mostly dependent on the defense, which restricted the Steelers to only 16 points. Browning also threw the dreaded pick in the red zone.
