Lions want to continue their playoff run.
DETROIT: After defeating the Los Angeles Rams in the wild-card round last week, the Detroit Lions and their supporters had to wait a long time to rejoice.
Conversely, Tampa Bay is accustomed to joining in on the festivities throughout this season.
Taking advantage of hosting a postseason game for the first time in thirty years, the Lions won their first playoff game in thirty-two years.
For the first time in club history, Detroit is playing two home games in the same round of the playoffs, which increases the team’s odds of winning two postseason games in a season for the first time since capturing the 1957 NFL championship.
With their victory over Philadelphia, the Bucs became the only NFC club to make it to the postseason for a fourth straight year. Since 2020, only the Kansas City Chiefs have won more postseason games than the Bucs.
Detroit, the NFC North winner, is committed to
In his seventh season with the long-suffering Lions, offensive lineman Taylor Decker is just grateful that he was able to see the exhilaration of the team’s 24-23 victory over the Rams.
“That’s one of the beautiful things about sports, is to be able to see things through,” Decker stated. “I’m just proud that I got to be a part of something special.”
EACH OF THEM IS #1.
Both Baker Mayfield of Tampa Bay and Jared Goff of Detroit were selected first overall two years apart, but they were selected by different clubs, and both have experienced some postseason success.
During last week’s victory over the Rams and former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, Ford Field supporters yelled, “Jar-ed Goff! Jar-ed Goff!” early and frequently. The eighth-year player
After completing his first ten throws, Goff ended with a score and 277 yards on 22 of 27 passes.
Zyon McCollum, a cornerback for Tampa Bay, described the quarterback as “one of the best I’ve seen on film.”
Mayfield, who was selected by Cleveland in the 2018 NFL Draft, may have enjoyed his greatest season with his fourth team in three years. He became the first quarterback in Buccaneers history to throw for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in a postseason game. He finished the regular season with career highs of 4,044 yards passing and 28 touchdown passes.
Tampa Bay Coach Todd Bowles remarked, “He looks like he’s having fun like he was in college.” “He is acting freely and liberated in the outdoors. Both he and we are truly benefiting from it.
Mayfield added a shot and reciprocated some kind remarks.
He’s a talented player, Mayfield remarked. “But yeah, he’s just got to do a little more film study.”
ATTACK DANCE
Aidan Hutchinson, the defensive end for Detroit, has an opportunity to become one of the few players who have recorded multiple sacks in four or more games in a row, including postseason games. While Hall of Famers Kevin Greene and Reggie White accomplished the record in four straight games, Simeon Rice got at least two sacks in five straight games.
YaYa Diaby, a rookie from Tampa Bay who was selected in the third round out of Louisville, leads a defense that has seven players with four or more sacks.
MENTALITY UNDERDOG
FanDuel Sportsbook has Tampa Bay as a 6 1/2-point underdog after the team dominated the Eagles as a 2 1/2-point underdog.
Bowles remarked, “It doesn’t surprise us at all.” “We no longer even give it a second thought. When we observe it, we sort of chuckle.”
