NSW Cup Round 9 match preview: Bulldogs versus.
As the prelude to the NRL, Wests Magpies take on Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Round 9 of the Knock On Effect NSW Cup on Saturday at Accor Stadium.
After a thrilling victory over the Eels in Round 4, the Magpies are now at the bottom of the ladder and looking to end a four-game losing streak.
With five victories and two losses, the Bulldogs are ranked third on the leaderboard. They defeated the Knights 52-6 in their most recent game at Accor Stadium a week ago. They are coming off the bye after four straight victories. In team news, Luke Laulilii (HIA) will be replaced at fullback by Starford To’a, who will make his eagerly anticipated comeback from an ankle injury.
Suspensions for Sione Fainu, Brandon Tumeth, and Justin Matamua have left Kit Laulilii, Chris Faagutu, and Gordon Whippy with possibilities.
We will attempt to carry over the positives from our performance last weekend, even if we didn’t win the two points, into our game against the Bulldogs. We’ll be concentrating on maintaining our discipline because we lost it last weekend. While the absence of three players due to suspension won’t help, we still have 17 players available who are prepared to finish the job. The Bulldogs are a team with a wealth of NRL experience, so it’s critical that we get off to a strong start in order to compete.
