An affective After eight years, Michael Ndiweni has announced his departure from Newcastle United. The 20-year-old made his Premier League debut as a substitute against Chelsea in November after entering the club’s academy in 2016 and rising through the ranks.

Before spending the second part of the season on loan at Scottish League One team Annan Athletic, Ndiweni made just one senior appearance.

“It’s time to say goodbye to my boyhood club after eight years,” Ndiweni stated. “I’ve experienced things over the years that I could have only dreamed of when I was twelve.”

When I was younger, I used to watch Newcastle United every other week from the stands and I used to dream of being able to wear the black and white shirt. I will always remember my Premier League debut at St. James Park, where I had the opportunity to represent this amazing club from the youth to the first team. “I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of my teammates, coaches, and staff members who have supported me and made this trip possible.

“I also want to express my gratitude to all of the NUFC supporters who have helped me during my time with the team. “I had a great time representing the city and the people that I am.” They will always hold a special place in my heart and for which I will always be grateful for the support I have received.I will always remember my time spent here. This summer, a number of young players will leave Newcastle when their contracts expire. Amad Diallo, Dylan Stephenson, Lucas De Bolle, and Kyle Crossley are among the others who have already made their departure known.
