One of the best’ managers in the world now wants the Detroit Lions job….

Important NFL executive gives Detroit Lions free-agency signee high marks

The Detroit Lions, who advanced to the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 1992, took a number of steps this offseason to assist them overcome their setbacks in 2024. Although the outcomes of those actions won’t be apparent for months, the NFL was highly complimentary of one free-agency addition in particular.

Following the 49ers’ upset victory over the NFC championship, Detroit realized it needed to strengthen its defense. Thus, the Lions, with plenty of cap space, added cornerback Carlton Davis III, defensive tackle D.J. Reader, edge rusher Marcus Davenport, and cornerback Amik Robertson.

While none of the signings would definitely alter Detroit’s plans for its first-round NFL Draft selections, one NFL executive is especially pleased with Reader’s addition.
